Hormone Health with Jenny: "Why do I feel tired all the time?"
Hormone Health with Jenny
Real conversations about hormones, metabolism, healthy aging, and finally feeling heard.
Why Am I So Tired All the Time?
If you're asking yourself this question, you're not alone.
"I used to have so much more energy."
"I wake up tired."
"I feel like I hit a wall every afternoon."
"By the time I get home, I have nothing left to give."
These are some of the most common concerns we hear from patients.
Many people assume feeling exhausted is simply part of getting older, raising a family, working full-time, or juggling life's responsibilities.
And while a busy life certainly contributes to fatigue, feeling tired all the time shouldn't automatically be accepted as your new normal.
Fatigue Is a Symptom—Not a Diagnosis
One of the most important things to understand is that fatigue itself isn't the problem.
It's a symptom.
Your body may be trying to tell you that something deserves a closer look.
The challenge is that there isn't one single cause.
Fatigue can result from many different factors, including:
- Poor sleep or untreated sleep disorders
- Chronic stress
- Nutritional deficiencies, such as low iron, vitamin B12, or vitamin D
- Thyroid disorders
- Hormonal changes
- Anxiety or depression
- Certain medications
- Chronic medical conditions
- Poor nutrition
- Lack of physical activity—or sometimes even overtraining
Often, it's not just one thing.
Several small factors can work together, leaving you feeling completely drained.
Hormones May Be Part of the Conversation
Hormonal changes can affect both women and men.
As hormone levels naturally shift with age, some people notice changes in:
- Energy
- Sleep
- Mood
- Mental clarity
- Muscle mass
- Recovery after exercise
- Weight management
- Libido
That doesn't automatically mean hormones are the cause—but they may be one piece of the puzzle worth exploring alongside your overall health.
Looking at the Whole Picture
At Regen Wellness, we believe fatigue deserves curiosity—not assumptions.
That's why we take a whole-person approach.
We want to understand:
- How you're sleeping
- What you're eating
- Your stress levels
- Your physical activity
- Your medical history
- Your medications
- Your lifestyle
- Your lab work, when appropriate
We also recognize that health isn't just physical.
Our emotional well-being, relationships, life experiences, and daily stressors can all influence how we feel. It may be mental health is affecting how you feel, and we're grateful to partner with trusted therapists and other healthcare professionals in our community to help support our patients.
Sometimes improving sleep habits, nutrition, or stress management makes a tremendous difference.
Sometimes an underlying medical condition needs to be addressed.
Sometimes hormone changes are contributing to the change.
Our goal isn't to jump to the first answer.
Our goal is to help you find the right answer.
When Should You Talk to a Healthcare Provider?
Consider scheduling an evaluation if:
- Fatigue lasts for several weeks or longer.
- You're sleeping enough but still wake up exhausted.
- Your fatigue is interfering with work, family, or daily activities.
- You're experiencing other symptoms such as weight changes, brain fog, mood changes, hot flashes, decreased libido, or changes in your menstrual cycle.
- You simply don't feel like yourself anymore.
You know your body.
If something feels different, it's worth having a conversation.
Jenny's Take
One of the hardest things I hear from patients is, "I thought this was just part of getting older."
Sometimes it is.
But sometimes it's your body's way of asking for attention.
You deserve a provider who will take the time to listen, ask questions, and look at the whole picture—not just one symptom or one lab value.
Whether the answer is related to sleep, nutrition, stress, hormones, thyroid health, or something else entirely, my goal is to help you understand what's happening and create a plan that's personalized to you.
Feeling tired shouldn't become your identity.
If you've been pushing through exhaustion because you think it's "just life," know that there may be more to the story.
At Regen Wellness, we believe healthcare starts with listening. Together, we'll work to understand the whole picture and help you take the next step toward feeling like yourself again.
Because above all else...
You deserve answers.
